Smoothie Magic

imageBreakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can actually burn more calories throughout the day—not to mention enjoy more energy—by making a healthy, nutritious breakfast a priority.

Since most of us don’t have a lot of extra time in the mornings, I recommend a fruit smoothie as a balanced, nutrious breakfast that you can prepare quickly and then eat on the go. Add some protein powder (I recommend whey) and you’ve got the perfect meal.

Here’s a recipe for my favorite Smoothie:

1/2 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon ground flax seed
1 cup frozen berries
1 tablespoon Udo’s 3-6-9 oil
1 scoop whey protein powder

Simply blend together, adding water as needed for the desired consistency.

This breakfast shake will keep you energized until lunch, and is also great as a meal replacement.
