The Secret

There’s no question about the mind body connection—what we think affects how we feel on so many levels. One of the best ways I’ve found to increase my sense of wellness is by reading books that inspire and enlighten me. A favorite book of mine is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. The concept behind The Secret is a simple one: We manifest in our lives what we think about. As simple as it may be, it is very empowering. If you’re looking for the DVD, you can watch it online at http://www.thesecret.tv. Reading The Secret has been inspiring for me and I hope it will be for you, as well.

No Shortcuts To The Top

One book I often recommend to my clients is No Shortcuts To The Top by Ed Viesturs with David Roberts. It’s a great book that helps put impatience into perspective. We all want results quickly, but it’s important to remember that quick results aren’t the most important thing, though the journey to achieving them is. We are all here to learn if we choose to, and this book helps us remember that nothing good ever comes easy.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success

There’s no doubt that I’m a big fan of Deepak Chopra. I find that his books are written in an accessible, easy-to-digest format that seperates them from a lot of the self-improvement books you see out there today. Dr. Chopra’s writing style, his unique ideas and his practical suggestions for implementing change and improving your life keep me coming back to his books time and time again. One of my favorites among his many titles is The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. The book is fairly easy reading—it isn’t too long—and I hope you’ll gain as much insight and inspiration from it as I have.

Ask and It Is Given

I’ve been listening to a book on CD lately that has had a profound impact on me. It’s called Ask and It Is Given, by Jerry and Esther Hicks. The book revolves around the idea of intent. We create what we focus on—and by extension, we can have anything we want, as long as we are clear about what it is.

The print version of Ask and It is Given includes a number of exercises designed to help you improve your mood, your attitude and your outlook by focusing your goals and ultimately achieving success.

Happiness Now!

A book that I’ve found particularly helpful is Happiness Now! by Robert Holden.  It’s a quick read, well-written and engaging, and helps to demystify happiness.

With practical advice, the author gives some great suggestions for simple ways to change the way you look at happiness, and make it a reality in your life.  The book does a great job of describing how happiness is a choice, and how people can learn to be cultivate a sense of happiness, regardless of their life circumstances.
